White House FootballThe Blue Devils opened the season with a convincing win over the Station Camp Bison at home, 46-14.
Bryan Dixon rushed 21 times for 146 yards and three touchdowns, while Aussie Light added 75 yards on five carries and Zach Byrd rumbled for 76 yards on nine carries.
Aussie Light blocked a Station Camp punt on the second drive, recovered by Zach Byrd at the 44, and Dixon turned it into points with as seven-yard run and two-point conversion for an 8-0 lead.
Upchurch intercepted the Bison and returned the pick 19 yards to the 38, and eight plays later Dixon was in again with his second touchdown. Light hit Jeff Edgar on the two-point play for a 16-0 edge.
Jacob Knight made a big stop deep in Station Camp territory when the punt sailed over the punter's head, and White House took four plays to score. Light connected with Upchurch for an 11-yard touchdown and Light ran in the two-pointer for a 24-0 lead at the half.
White House opened the second half with a 76-yard scoring drive, Light getting in the endzone from four yards out after a rumbling 43-yard run by Byrd. The two-point conversion was no good and the score stood 30-0.
The Bison connected on a 69-yard pass to get on the scoreboard, but missed the rushing PAT, but Dixon responded with a 36-yard run for another Blue Devil score. White House led 38-6 when Dixon converted the PAT run.
Again the Bison hit through the air with a 30-yard touchdown pass, but Light scampered 75 yards on the quarterback sneak for White House in the fourth quarter. Dixon ran in the two-point conversion for a 46-14 lead.
